Dr. Mehmet Oz, host of “The Dr. Oz Show” is vice-chair and professor of surgery at Columbia University. He directs the Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital where he performs 150-200 heart operations annually.
Dr. Oz has authored several New York Times bestsellers including the YOU book series with Dr. Michael Roizen. Their most recent book, YOU: Having a Baby was published in December of 2009. Dr. Oz has been honored with numerous awards including being named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2008, Esquire magazine’s 75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century, “Doctor of the Year” by Hippocrates magazine and “Healer of the Millennium” by Healthy Living magazine. Dr. Oz is annually elected as a highest quality physician by the Castle Connolly Guide as well as other major ranking groups.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Oz received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and obtained a joint MD and MBA from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Wharton Business School. He lives in Cliffside Park, NJ, with his wife Lisa of 23 years and their four children, Daphne, Arabella, Zoe, and Oliver.
Michael F. Roizen, MD

Dr. Michael Roizen is the first Chief Wellness Officer at any major academic medical center, the Cleveland Clinic, where he is also the chairman of their Wellness Institute. Dr. Roizen is boarded in both internal medicine and anesthesiology. He has founded six companies, co-invented a drug recently approved by FDA and written four number one New York Times bestsellers, his books include the YOU series co-authored with Dr. Mehmet Oz. Dr Roizen is also the co-founder of RealAge, Inc., and he is currently the chairman of the RealAge Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Roizen is a past chair of a Food and Drug Administration advisory committee and a former editor for six medical journals with more than 165 peer-reviewed scientific papers, 100 textbook chapters, 30 editorials and four medical books to his name.
Dr. Roizen is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Williams College and Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of the University of California at San Francisco, School of Medicine. He performed his residency in internal medicine at Harvard's Beth Israel Hospital, and anesthesiology at University of California at San Francisco and completed Public Health Service at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Roizen lives in Cleveland, Ohio, with wife, Dr. Nancy Roizen.
David L. Katz, MD, MPH, FACPM, FACP

David L. Katz MD, MPH, FACPM, FACP is an internationally renowned authority on nutrition, weight management, and the prevention of chronic disease, and an internationally recognized leader in integrative medicine and patient-centered care. He is a board certified specialist in both Internal Medicine, and Preventive Medicine/Public Health, and Associate Professor (adjunct) in Public Health Practice at the Yale University School of Medicine. Katz is the Director and founder of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Director and founder of the Integrative Medicine Center at Griffin Hospital in Derby, CT; founder and president of the non-profit Turn the Tide Foundation; and formerly the Director of Medical Studies in Public Health at the Yale School of Medicine for eight years. Katz is a prominent voice in medical media, and serves on the editorial advisory boards of several leading health periodicals and professional journals (including Health, Prevention, Men’s Health, Best Life, and the American Journal of Health Promotion). He contributes a monthly column to O, the Oprah Magazine; near daily blogs to Prevention Magazine and has served as a Medical Contributor to ABC News and a health columnist to the New York Times Syndicate. In 2009 he was named one of the 25 most influential people in the lives of children by Children’s Health magazine.

Dr. Roger A. Clemens is Associate Director of the Regulatory Science program and adjunct Professor of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences within the USC School of Pharmacy, and is the consulting Scientific Advisor for ETHorn. He has published more than 50 original manuscripts in nutrition and food science, participated in more than 200 invited domestic and international lectures, and served as an expert panel member for the food industry, scientific organizations, trade associations and regulatory agencies in the United States and Canada.
Dr. Clemens is a member of the USDA 2010 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, a member of three USP expert committees (Non-botanical Dietary Supplements; Information Expert Committee [Gastroenterology]; Food Ingredients), and an appointed member of the Product Quality Working Group for the National Center for Contemporary and Alternative Medicine. He is also a member of the Commission on Dietetic Registration for the American Dietetic Association.
Dr. Clemens received an AB in Bacteriology, a MPH in Nutrition, and a DrPH. in Public Health Nutrition and Biological Chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Karen Collins, MS, RD, CDN
American Institute for Cancer Research
Karen Collins is a registered dietitian who promotes healthy eating as a syndicated nutrition news columnist, speaker and consultant. Karen serves as Nutrition Advisor to the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR). For more than eighteen years, she has written two weekly columns, Nutrition Notes and Nutrition-Wise, now re-named Health Talk, carried on various websites and in newspapers nationwide. Karen participates in videos and presents seminars for the general public and cancer survivors, and speaks regularly to a variety of health professional audiences.
A member of the American Dietetic Association, and its Oncology Nutrition and Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition dietetic practice groups, Karen holds a BS degree in dietetics from Purdue University and an MS degree in nutrition from Cornell University. Karen is a New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist, has previously served as president of her local dietetic association and was named Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year in New York State.
Based in western New York, where she conducted a long-time private practice in individual and group nutrition counseling dealing with weight, disordered eating, heart health and medical problems such as diabetes, Karen enthusiastically focuses on realistic strategies for reaching health goals.

Keri M. Gans, MS, RD, CDN

Keri Gans is a Registered Dietitian in private practice in Manhattan and holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition from New York University and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Ohio University. Gans is a Spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association Spokesperson (ADA), an ADA Delegate for NY State and a Past President of the New York State Dietetic Association. Before working solely in private practice Gans was a clinical staff dietitian at St. Lukes Roosevelt Hospital and North General Hospital in Manhattan. Presently, besides individual and group nutrition counseling, Gans spends time public speaking, consulting for nutrition websites, and freelance writing. She has also worked as a media spokesperson, including clients such as, Bayer Nutritional Science, Wisdom Naturals (Stevia Brand) and The American Dairy Association and Dairy Council. Keri is frequently quoted in local and national publications, and has made several television appearances including, ABC News, FOX News, FOX Morning Show with Mike and Juliet and Good Morning America; and numerous radio interviews. Gans is a regular guest on Sirius Satellite Radio's Dr. Radio Show. She was also the host of a weekly nutrition/lifestyle show called “Diet Diva” on Manhattan Public Access TV for five years.
Donald K. Ingram, Ph.D
Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Louisiana State University
Dr. Ingram is a professor and chief of the Nutritional Neuroscience and Aging Laboratory at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Pennington Center at Louisiana State University is internationally acclaimed for its leading research in nutrition and metabolic diseases. Prior, he was chief of the Laboratory of Experimental Gerontology at the National Institute of Aging, National Institutes of Health. Ingram received his B.A. in psychology from Louisiana State University and his doctorate in psychology and gerontology from the University of Georgia, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the Jackson Laboratory.
With over 325 scientific publications to his credit, Dr. Ingram has conducted pioneering research focused on nutritional and pharmacological interventions designed to attenuate aging, age-related disease, and functional decline. His research has focused on the health benefits of low calorie diets, and he launched a new research field in calorie restriction mimetics. His research is supported by the National Institute of Health and the Alzheimer’s Association.
Dr. Ingram serves on editorial boards of several biomedical journals and he is editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American Aging Association. He is a consultant for several pharmaceutical and biotech companies. He is a past president of the American Aging Association and the 2003 recipient of the association’s Harman Research Award. In 2010, he takes office as president of the Gerontological Society of America.

Mollie Katzen, with over six million books in print, is listed by the New York Times as one of the bestselling cookbook authors of all time. Best known as the creator of the groundbreaking classics Moosewood Cookbook and The Enchanted Broccoli Forest, Mollie was named by Health Magazine as one of "The Five Women Who Changed the Way We Eat," and was inducted into the prestigious James Beard Cookbook Hall of Fame in 2007.
With an avid commitment to nutrition education, Mollie is a charter member of the Harvard School of Public Health Nutrition Roundtable. Since 2003, she has been a consultant to Harvard University Dining Service, specifically in regard to their Food Literacy Project. In addition, Mollie has been a culinary guest advisor to various other universities, including UC Berkeley, University of Massachusetts, Washington University, and the University of New Hampshire's new Eco-Gastronomy program.

Petra is a highly respected and well-known fitness, health and wellness expert and motivational speaker. She is certified by The American College of Sports Medicine, The American Council on Exercise, The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America and is a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher. Her mission is to help individuals get moving and incorporate daily exercise into their lives in an easy and realistic fashion.
Petra brings her own life experience to everything she does. Diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 1999, Petra was in remission after 8 months of intensive chemotherapy and radiation. Ten years later she is cancer free. She uses her experience as a cancer survivor to help motivate others who may be dealing with adversity. Petra’s approach is one of compassion sprinkled with humor.
Petra has received many accolades for her work within the fitness field, including being named the 2003 and 2004 East Coast Alliance Best Female Presenter of the Year, 2001 IDEA Instructor of The Year, 2000 Canadian Fitness Professionals International Presenter of the Year and in 1999 Petra was named Fitness Crusader of the year by Health Magazine for her work within the heath and wellness industry.

Joan Sabaté, MD, Dr.PH

Joan Sabaté is Professor and Chair of the Department of Nutrition at Loma Linda University’s School of Public Health. From Spain, Dr. Sabaté is a board certified physician in internal medicine. In 1989 he obtained the degree of Doctor of Public Health in nutrition from Loma Linda University and became an assistant professor in the Department of Nutrition. In 1997 he became the Chair of the Department.
Dr. Sabaté was principal investigator in the study that directly linked the consumption of walnuts to significant reductions in blood serum cholesterol. His landmark findings were published in the New England Journal of Medicine and received the attention of nearly 400 media sources, both national and international. Dr. Sabaté’s most recent research has focused on the relationship of pecans, almonds, peanuts and walnuts to CHD risk and includes a research project in Lyon, France, conducting analysis on the data from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC).
Dr. Sabaté is frequently asked to speak at scientific symposia as well as health and nutrition conferences throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. He has been published in many scientific journals both as principal and co-author and is the editor of the book Vegetarian Nutrition published in 2001. He also served as chairman for the Fifth International Congress on Vegetarian Nutrition held on the campus of Loma Linda University in March 2008.

Brian Wansink, Ph.D

Dr. Brian Wansink is the world’s leading expert in eating behavior. Known as the “Sherlock Holmes of Food,” his award-winning research results have been published in hundreds of academic, medical, nutrition, marketing, and popular articles, and his work has been featured in documentaries and television shows on every continent but Antarctica.
Dr. Wansink’s findings have been both revolutionary and diverse. He is perhaps best known for discovering what he calls “Mindless Eating,” the tendency to eat because of habit or environmental cues rather than hunger, and for originating the concept of the 100 calorie snack pack. His contributions to current thinking also include advances in food marketing, study design, consumer behavior, and other fields.
He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University, and he heads the Department of Marketing and of Nutritional Science at Cornell University, where he directs the Cornell Food and Brand Lab. Prior to Cornell, Dr. Wansink taught at Dartmouth College, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and universities in Europe. In 2008 he served as Executive Director of the USDA’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion, where he oversaw development of the 2010 USDA dietary guidelines and transformed the classic food pyramid into the dynamic and more popular “MyPyramid.”
He is an Iowa native living with his family in Ithaca, NY, where he regularly enjoys both fine French cuisine and fast-food French fries.
